Cookie Policy

Nothing is stored for analytics or advertising unless you allow it. On your first visit you are asked. Decline and no such cookies are ever set; accept, or choose category by category under Manage cookies. The site works exactly the same either way, and you can change your mind at any time from the footer.
1. What we don't use
To be specific, this site does not use:
- analytics cookies without your prior consent;
- advertising or conversion-tracking cookies without your prior consent;
- social media pixels or embedded tracking widgets;
- session or authentication cookies — there is nothing to log in to;
- tag managers, A/B testing, session recording, or heatmap tools.
2. The one thing we do store
The site stores a single entry in your browser's local storage. Local storage is not a cookie: it is never attached to network requests and is never transmitted to our server.

On your first visit the site works out which language to show you — first from the language your browser advertises, then refined by the country your connection resolves to — and stores the result so that check does not need to repeat. Picking a language yourself overwrites it at any time.
Why this does not require consent
Storage that is strictly necessary to deliver a service the user has requested is exempt from consent requirements under the ePrivacy Directive and equivalent rules. A language preference falls within that exemption: it contains no identifier, enables no tracking, builds no profile, and is readable only by this site. It records which of four languages to render, and nothing more.
3. Analytics and advertising — only with consent
If you accept, Google Analytics 4 sets the following cookies. They let us see how many people reach the site, where from, and which pages are read — and, because we run Google Ads, which campaigns produce enquiries. If you decline, none of these exist.

Withdraw "Cookie settings" in the footer — we delete them
Before you choose, the page loads Google's tag with every storage permission set to denied. In that state it writes no cookies and stores no identifier; it sends only an anonymous, cookieless signal that lets Google estimate totals. This is Google Consent Mode v2, the mechanism Google requires of advertisers serving the EEA and the UK. It means one request reaches Google before you decide — but nothing is stored on your device and nothing identifies you.
Declining, or withdrawing later, sets those permissions permanently to denied and deletes any Google Analytics cookies already present. Your choice is remembered in local storage so you are not asked again.
HubSpot
The Analytics category also covers HubSpot, which we use to see which enquiries came from which campaign. It sets these cookies, and only after you allow it:

Set when Only after you allow Analytics
Unlike Google's tag, the HubSpot script is not loaded at all until you allow Analytics — nothing of it reaches your browser beforehand. Declining or withdrawing deletes these cookies along with the Google ones.
Advertising
A separate switch, off unless you turn it on. Allowing Analytics does not allow this. It lets Google connect an enquiry back to the advertisement that produced it, which is what makes our advertising spend measurable.

Analytics and Advertising are independent. You may allow one and refuse the other, and withdrawing either deletes that category's cookies.
4. How to remove it
Clear site data for this domain in your browser settings, or use private/incognito browsing. You can also withdraw consent from "Cookie settings" in the footer, which deletes the analytics and advertising cookies for you. Removing the language entry has no effect beyond the site forgetting which language to show.
5. Third-party requests
For completeness, this site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts. Serving those files requires your browser to contact Google directly, which means Google receives your IP address. Google states that requests to fonts.gstatic.com do not set cookies. This is described in more detail in our Privacy Notice.
The site also makes a one-time country lookup, via api.country.is, to choose your initial language. That request discloses your IP address to that provider. It runs only when no language preference is stored, and the result is saved so it does not repeat. This is set out in full in our Privacy Notice. Separately, if you fill in and send the quote form on the home page, that submission is relayed to us through FormSubmit — it happens only when you press Send. Beyond these, nothing on this page contacts any third party.
6. Changes
If we add a cookie or change what an existing one does, we will update this page before the change takes effect, and ask for consent again where the change requires it.
